Arborist Ben Brooker

Thank you for taking the time to look at my website. I use this space to share articles on modern arboricultural practices and news, as well as promote myself to prospective customers and fellow arborists.

After studying full time at Merrist Wood College, England, in 2000 to 2002, and obtaining a 1st Diploma in Forestry (Level 2) and a Horticultural National Certificate in Arboriculture (Level 3), I have gained a broad experience in roles that varied from lead climber and crew leader, to estimator and contract management. I have worked in Australia and New Zealand on working holiday visas, as well as Canada and the UK. I was born and raised on the Isle of Man, which is where I currently reside as a freelance/ contract climber and arborist. I hold relevant NPTC certifications and adhere to BS3998 working practices. I pride myself in carrying out work that is beneficial to the future health, safety and aesthetics of a tree, even if this means asking the customer to make some compromises. This is how it looks on paper:

  • 2002 NCH Arboriculture from Merrist Wood College.
  • 2001 1st Dip Forestry from Merrist Wood College.
  • NPTC CS30, CS31, CS36, CS38, CS39, PA1, PA6A.
  • UK Driving License (B).

Arboriculture is very much a progressive career for me and my goal is to take this practical experience, along with further eduction, into more managerial roles. If you should require my services or any advice relating to the subject then please see my list of Services and the Contact page.
