Emergency First Aid at Work +F — Isle of Man
A 1-day Lantra Awards certified first aid course built for people who work outdoors, where an ambulance is not minutes away.
First aid training for outdoor work, not the office
If you work outdoors — on a site, on the land, or on your own with no quick route to hospital — a standard first aid course only takes you so far. The Emergency First Aid at Work +F course is the enhanced version: the same life-saving basics, plus the serious stuff that actually happens on outdoor and remote sites — catastrophic bleeding, crush injuries, exposure, and keeping a casualty alive while help is still on its way.
The +F stands for Forestry, reflecting the standard set for one of the highest-risk outdoor trades — the same standard the Forestry Commission expects and most arboriculture and forestry contracts require. That makes it a higher bar than a standard EFAW course, which is exactly why it suits anyone working outdoors, remotely, or away from immediate help, whatever the trade. We deliver it in one day, here on the Isle of Man, so your team can get certified without losing a week to travel.
Courses can be run for individuals joining a scheduled date, or delivered at your own site for a whole crew. Group sizes stay small so everyone gets hands-on with the equipment rather than watching a demonstration.
What You Will Learn
A practical day built around the injuries and emergencies that genuinely occur on outdoor work sites.
- Managing an emergency in remote, rural, or outdoor settings
- CPR and AED use (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Catastrophic bleeding control (including tourniquets and haemostatic dressings)
- Crush injuries and major trauma from outdoor machinery and tools
- Treating shock, hypothermia, and extreme weather exposure
- Lantra Awards certification on completion
